This 8.4 km long route takes us to the Cerro Alto and Dehesa Nueva reservoirs.
Two birdwatching hides, optimised for children and adults, may be visited.
- LENGTH:
This route is 8.4 km long. - ROUTE DESCRIPTION:
It starts at the Information Point and Environmental Education Centre. From here, and then just after leaving the village, it continues along a track passing first between agricultural fields. After bending to the left it becomes asphalted. This route takes us to two irrigation pools (Cerro Alto and Dehesa Nueva), a small pool on the opposite side of the road to Cerro Alto, and finally to the end of one of the arms of the Arrocampo reservoir on its right bank. - AMENITIES:
Small signposts and 2 strategically located birdwatching hides are found at the Cerro Alto and Dehesa Nueva pools. Each hide has different opening slats to enable viewing at optimal heights for both adults and children. Wooden benches are present in each. All are accessed via a ramp. All hides contain signs illustrating the principal species which may be observed and the route (in part).
- OBSERVATIONS:
Access is along tracks for the local farmers and caution should be taken to minimise possible interference and circulate at low speeds.
